General Government

Department	Description
City Manager	Responsible for the Management of all City Departments
City Clerk	Official custodian of all City Records and the City Seal
Civil Service	Serves as an impartial, unbiased broker to conduct matters of personnel administration in the City
Code Enforcement	Ensures compliance with the NYS Builiding Code, as well as local building, housing, and zoning codes
Corporation Counsel	Provides a wide range of legal services to the City, its legislative body, and its various departments
Human Resources	Responsible for all Human Resources initiatives throughout City government
Human Rights	Ensures that every individual has an equal opportunity to participate in the economic, cultural, and intellectual life of the community
Planning and Economic Development	Responsible for the coordination and administration of a broad scope of planning, community development and economic development functions
Vital Records	Records and preserves all records of births and deaths that occur in the City

Finance

Department	Description
Accounting	Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of all of the financial reports, vendor payments, payroll and payroll records, Community Development loans, and all required State and Federal Reports
Assessment	Responsible for the valuation of all properties within the City
Comptroller	Chief Financial Officer of the City and the head of the Finance Department
Purchasing	Responsible for all Purchases and Material Management
Treasurer	Responsible for the preparation and mailing of all City tax bills and collection of all revenue
Water Billing & Service	Responsible for utility billing and maintenance

Municipal Utilities

Department	Description
Hydropower	The City maintains and operates two dam facilities that generate power, which is distributed to a local utility company
Industrial Pretreatment Program
Solid Waste	Collection and disposal of curbside trash and debris, including recyclabe materials, throughout the City
Water Pollution Control Plant	Responsible for cleansing and purifying all water and waste channeled though the City Sewer System
Water Purification Plant	Responsible for ensuring that the City's potable water suppy is clean and fee of hazardous substances

Public Safety Services

Department	Description
Fire Department	Provides fire suppression, fire prevention education, code enforcement, and emergency medical and rescue response services for the City
Police Department	Responsible for enforcing the laws governing the City, for preserving the peace, and for providing a safe City environment

Public Works

Department	Description
Cemeteries
Parks Maintenance	Service City parks and playgrounds and install new playground facilities and equipment as needed
RSVP	The Retired Senior and Volunteer Program is a placement agency for volunteer personnel offering community based volunteer work at 62 nonprofit institutions, agencies, and organizations in the community.
Recreation	Includes operation of sporting events at Casey Park; support to the Auburn Doubledays; management of Falcon Baseball park; and, coordination of concerts, celebrations, and vauious recreational activities for adults and youth
Sewer Maintenance	Maintain the City Sewer System
Urban Forestry	Planting and maintenance of street trees and trees located on city property
Water Distribution	Coordinates the distribution of potable water to our City and surrounding communities
