General Government

Description
Responsible for the Management of all City Departments
Official custodian of all City Records and the City Seal
Serves as an impartial, unbiased broker to conduct matters of personnel administration in the City
Ensures compliance with the NYS Builiding Code, as well as local building, housing, and zoning codes
Provides a wide range of legal services to the City, its legislative body, and its various departments
Responsible for all Human Resources initiatives throughout City government
Ensures that every individual has an equal opportunity to participate in the economic, cultural, and intellectual life of the community
Responsible for the coordination and administration of a broad scope of planning, community development and economic development functions
Records and preserves all records of births and deaths that occur in the City

Department
Description
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of all of the financial reports, vendor payments, payroll and payroll records, Community Development loans, and all required State and Federal Reports
Responsible for the valuation of all properties within the City

The City maintains and operates two dam facilities that generate power, which is distributed to a local utility company
 
Collection and disposal of curbside trash and debris, including recyclabe materials, throughout the City
Responsible for cleansing and purifying all water and waste channeled though the City Sewer System
Responsible for ensuring that the City's potable water suppy is clean and fee of hazardous substances

Provides fire suppression, fire prevention education, code enforcement, and emergency medical and rescue response services for the City

Service City parks and playgrounds and install new playground facilities and equipment as needed
The Retired Senior and Volunteer Program is a placement agency for volunteer personnel offering community based volunteer work at 62 nonprofit institutions, agencies, and organizations in the community.
Includes operation of sporting events at Casey Park; support to the Auburn Doubledays; management of Falcon Baseball park; and, coordination of concerts, celebrations, and vauious recreational activities for adults and youth
