The City of Auburn provides adult recreation for the community in an attempt to promote enjoyment through sporting programs. Although competitiveness certainly is generated by these activities, it is not the primary focus of the program. In an effort to promote equality to all teams and its participants, the player classification system will be is season. All players are eligible to compete with only one team.
Players may be listed on several rosters; however, the first team a player competes with is the roster that he or she will be locked into. Those players found to be playing on more than one team will be suspended from participation on both teams and a fine will be invoked prior to reinstatement. The violating players may be identified by the softball coordinator, umpires, or player liaisons rather than by past protest procedures, which have been proven ineffective. Offending players that are identified prior to the start of the game will be immediately removed from the lineup. If that alleged violator remains in the game and upon further investigation is determined to have actually violated the player eligibility rule, suspension, fines, and or termination penalties will result
