The Retired Senior and Volunteer Program is a placement agency for volunteer personnel offering community based volunteer work at 62 nonprofit institutions, agencies, and organizations in the community. Assignments range from nonskilled to professional levels. RSVP is sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the City of Auburn, New York State and Cayuga County Office for the Aging. Assistance with meals, mileage, transportation and supplemental insurance may be provided. There are 500 volunteers presently serving in hospitals, libraries, senior centers, nursing homes, museums, nutrition sites, public agencies, and other sites. The Program also offers opportunities to persons who are handicapped or homebound. Anyone who is at least 55 years of age is welcome to spend a part of their retirement hours in a rewarding way with RSVP. There are no restrictions based on education, income, or experience.
